Mumbai: Mumbai Congress today observed ‘Black Day’ under the leadership of city Congress President Sanjay Nirupam on the second anniversary of demonetization. Sanjay Nirupam also listed the failures of the BJP Govt and urged the people to vote for the Congress Party for a better future.
Attacking PM Narendra Modi Sanjay Nirupam said, “The PM requested the people of the country for 50 days. He also stated that if this decision is proven to be wrong within the said time frame, the people can hang him publicly. More than 600 days have passed, but the Prime Minister has refrained from speaking about the decision of demonetization ever since. Small scale industries were shut, youngsters lost their jobs,150 innocent people lost their lives while standing in the queue outside banks. The only person who was benefitted from PM Modi’s decision of demonetization was Amit Shah. The common people of the country are agitated today. They will not hang the PM physically but will kill him politically in the upcoming Lok Sabha Elections.”
Sanjay Nirupam further stated, “The RBI later revealed that money worth Rs. 10,000 Crore was the actual amount of black money for which currency worth Rs.15,00,000 Crore was demonetized. The PM also assured the people of the country that terrorism and naxalism will come to an end once demonetization was introduced. However, exactly opposite of what was promised has happened. Our jawans are being killed at the border, attacks by naxalists, maoists and terrorists have increased manifolds in the country. This depicts a massive failure of PM Modi’s decision of demonetization. Even after 2 years since this destructive move of the PM hit the country, the common man is battling it’s aftermath even today.
Mumbai Congress Mahila President Ajanta Yadav reiterated that PM Modi’s decision of demonetization was wrong and no woman in the country will ever forgive the BJP Govt for this decision and it’s far-reaching effects on their lives.
Spokesperson of Maharashtra SC Cell Raju Waghmare, Mumbai Mahila Congress President Ajanta Yadav, former State Cabinet Minister Chandrakant Handore, former MLA Ashok Bhau Jadhav, former MLC Charansingh Sapra and Mumbai Pradesh Youth Congress President Ganesh Yadav were present among other leaders from the Congress Party. The Congress Party has observed ‘Black Day’ condemning the PM’s decision of demonetization across the country today calling it a complete failure.
